Thought this was worth sharing. Though the video places the emphasis on TV, in a technological age things such as texting/cell phones, ipods, facebook, twitter and more can be like a “drug.” The unlimited amount of tools that we have access to can serve dual functions. In one sense they can help us stay in touch and in tune, enabling us to multitask and make good use of dead time. In another sense they can be overused/misused and consume us causing us to not be fully present with people or notice the pain and disparities of the people around us or even the beauty.

I LOVE technology, I NEVER want to go back to a time when we didn’t have it – NEVER!!!! I get frustrated when I encounter people who are technically behind and don’t care to advance! And I also want to make sure I don’t allow technology to work against me. I want to use technology and not let technology use and consume other important things in life. Use the tools for the good not just of yourself but also of others and to help you connect with the important people and work in your life.

Is technology a tool that you use or a tool that uses you?
